By creatively applying interdisciplinary knowledge of Chemistry and Biology to solve practical problems related to waste management in the Eco-School project “Know Your Rubbish”, Nguyen Sieu students continue to demonstrate their ability to put the High Performance Learning (HPL) philosophy into practice in both learning and research.
Specifically, students actively collected and sorted waste, applying scientific knowledge alongside creativity to transform it into unique recycled models - raising their voices for environmental protection and a more sustainable future. Through this process, they developed problem-solving skills, enhanced creative thinking, and strengthened collaboration, adaptability, and empathy through teamwork.
Sharing thoughts after the event, Pham Thai Tung, a student from class 8IG1S2, said: “We mostly applied strategic planning skills - a sub-skill from meta-thinking in the HPL philosophy. Specifically, we researched the audience and found that about 50% of the votes came from students, and we also needed to meet the teacher's criteria and content requirement. So, in order to achieve a high score and victory, we decided to use a story about a boy named Ronaldo walking around the park and drinking C2 as a hook for our presentation, so it could be relatable.

Furthermore, the activity also demonstrated the proactive spirit and ability of Nguyen Sieu students to realize their goals by collaborating, organizing the program, directly observing, evaluating, and voting for presentations and products under the guidance and advice of their teachers, contributing to creating an interesting, fair, and responsible learning environment.
Do Ha My, a student in class 8IG1S0 and a member of the project's steering committee, shared that she felt proud and excited to participate in a project that helped broaden her understanding and increase the practical application of Biology and Chemistry knowledge.

Beyond these activities, the project “Know Your Rubbish” also contributes to spreading environmental awareness and further affirms the effectiveness of the HPL philosophy in shaping mindsets, developing capabilities, and nurturing global citizens who care about social issues and are ready to act for a sustainable future.
