Recently, Nguyễn Siêu Secondary and High School successfully organized the English Festival 2025–2026 series. With the theme “English Empowers, Sustainability Inspires,” the event attracted strong engagement and enthusiastic participation from students across the school. More than just an academic playground, the festival also served as a meaningful journey for students to develop their competencies and qualities by connecting language learning with sustainable values.

Excited to Compete in the Spelling Bee Challenge

This year’s Spelling Bee stage witnessed dramatic and engaging contests among Year 6 and Year 7 students. Amidst the enthusiastic cheers of friends and teachers, contestants tackled challenging sets of academic vocabulary centred on sustainability. Each letter was pronounced clearly, each spelling delivered with confidence, reflecting not only thorough preparation but also admirable mastery of language. The radiant smiles after conquering difficult words, as well as the moments of intense concentration, together created an inspiring academic picture full of youthful energy from Nguyen Sieu students.

Testing Skills as “Editors” in News Broadcasting

In this activity, teams presented diverse news bulletins, delving into urgent issues such as renewable energy, green transition, climate change, and biodiversity protection. Particularly in the final round, students demonstrated flexibility and stage presence in the “Breaking News” segment. This provided them with a valuable opportunity to experience future professions, while cultivating critical thinking, language skills, and a spirit of sustainability in service to the community.

Spreading the Sustainability Message through NSS Talk

The English Festival stage truly came alive with the participation of Year 10, 11, and 12 “speakers” at the NSS Talk forum. Through their speeches, students offered diverse perspectives on the environment and sustainable development: from social issues and personal experiences to academic topics. They inspired audiences and called for action to protect the environment. With confidence and impressive command of language, they conveyed meaningful messages, demonstrating both maturity and deep concern for social issues, while awakening a sense of responsibility in listeners.

Unlimited Creativity with Writing Comics and Movie Dubbing

Concluding this year’s English Festival were creative works from Writing Comics and Movie Dubbing activities. Original comic books and carefully dubbed films showcased the intersection of language proficiency and artistic talent among Nguyen Sieu students. By skilfully combining images and language, students conveyed “green” messages in captivating ways, bringing sustainable values closer to the community through fresh and lively approaches.

With hundreds of students participating, this year’s English Festival was a vibrant academic playground where learners could break boundaries and voice their opinions on pressing environmental and social issues. The event also reflected Nguyen Sieu School’s steadfast commitment to holistic education, integrating academic experiences with practical activities.
